💪 You’re stronger than you think—and you don’t have to do this alone.

Question:

I initiated the divorce but I am feeling so guilty now even though I believe this was best for both of us. How do I get past this?

Answer: Feelings of guilt and failure are common during divorce, so be kind to yourself. It’s normal to question any decision that is this significant, but that’s also the reason to reframe your perspective and recognize that ending a marriage can be a courageous step toward a healthier, happier life. Any change – even good change! – is hard and can trigger guilt, especially if those impacted by it don’t feel the same way.

Healing begins when you acknowledge the guilt, then gently return your focus to the reasons you made this choice and the better future you’re creating for both of you. You can hold both compassion and conviction at the same time. Give yourself permission to grieve and move forward—because doing what’s right doesn’t always feel easy, but that doesn’t make it wrong, either.

As you go through this time can you do one thing each day that recharges you? Literally add one activity to your calendar each day that you enjoy, like music, exercise, reading, or connecting with friends and family. Rebuilding takes time and effort, but acknowledging your strengths and resilience will help you move toward the future you’re looking for. 💪 💝

Here I’ll share some of the books, websites, podcasts and experts to help make your journey a little less shitty!

Calling all men struggling with divorce!

I recently had an honest and revealing discussion with Josh Tomeoni on his podcast, The Derelict. We discussed so many valuable aspects of divorce:

How to get the most out of working with your attorney

😩 Why some people get stuck in the past

📒The important differences between therapists, lawyers and coaches

🫶🏽 How to rebuild your life and confidence after divorce, and

😱 The BIGGEST mistake in divorce

👉 I offered Josh’s audience $50 off my digital course, Better Than Before Divorce™️, when they message me the word “Derelict,” and I’ll extend that offer to my audience as well.

Send me a message below and I’ll send you a code for $50 off the course, making it only $147. This is a valuable way to get the emotional support tools you need during divorce (and the offer is good for men and women! 👚👕)
