Divorce Wins? How to Find the Positives in Your New Chapter

It might be hard to imagine today, but an amazing future you love is possible, even after a huge disruption like divorce. Sometimes you have to give yourself permission to focus forward and incorporate the positives into your life.

Taking that step can be an important part of the healing process!

In this week’s blog post I go into detail about how divorce can help you change your life for the better – even if you never expected to be here.

Check it out! 💝💪

Do you have a tough question? Ask away. I’ll find the right experts to weigh in and make sure you’re getting the input you need.

Question:
I want to be positive but I’m so angry. How can I change how I feel? I know it’s not good for me to be so negative.

Answer:

First, the fact that you’re thinking that way shows that you are open to a new way of thinking. Be kind to yourself as you navigate the process and try to take each day, or even parts of the day, separately. Recognize your wins! When you have a day or a period of time where you’re feeling better, think about what felt different. Did you do something that changed your perspective? Did you give yourself “permission” to focus on the positive? Try to replicate whatever it was that set you up for success.

Focusing on the times when you feel strong and healthy will help them feel more normal, and ultimately, easier to replicate.

Here I’ll share some of the books, websites, podcasts and experts to help make your journey a little less shitty!

One of the best ways to change your perspective and get inspired is to learn from others who have embraced courageous choices and are willing to share their wisdom.

I first learned about Emmanuel Acho when Brené Brown interviewed him a few years ago. I’ve followed him since and I highly recommend his book, Illogical, Saying Yes to A Life Without Limits.
